Midjourney Omni Reference (Oref) - What is new?

Omni Reference Explained
OREF allows you to seamlessly say, "Put THIS in my image." Whether it’s a character, object, vehicle, or creature, Omni-Reference ensures your specified imagery is integrated beautifully into the final result.
Omni-Weight Control
Fine-tune how closely your image adheres to the reference with the '--ow' parameter. From subtle influence (ex. --ow 25) to strict adherence (ex. --ow 400), adjust the weight to suit your creative goals.
API Support
Our Midjourney API now supports the Omni Reference (Oref) feature as well, similar to other features such as sref or cref that we have supported before!
Support for Complex Influences
Layer personalizations, style references, and moodboards on top of Omni-Reference for unique results as per your vision.
Multi-Character Support
Create visuals with multiple referenced elements. Include two characters, objects, or creatures from different reference images in your prompt for dynamic compositions.
Enhanced Style Transformation
Transform images in style effortlessly. Reduce omni-weight for modifications like anime-style conversions while maintaining critical details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Midjourney Omni Reference (Oref)?

Midjourney Omni-Reference (Oref) is the newly released image reference system that lets users integrate specific visual elements, such as characters or objects, directly into their AI-generated images. PiAPI is now supporting the Oref feature as part of our Midjourney API as well!

When should I change the Omni Reference Weight parameter?

The weight value ranges from 0 to 1000. Lower '--ow' (ex. 25) for stylistic changes or extensive transformations. Higher '--ow' (ex. 400) for fidelity to key details like faces, clothing, or features.

How to use the Oref feature as part of the Midjourney API?

Similar to how users would use this feature in Discord, you can incorporate the '--oref' command within the image URL for quick reference integration. Please see Midjourney API documentation for more information.

What other parameters impact Oref?

Both '--stylize' and '--exp' compete with the '--oref' in influencing your final image. Balance these parameters with Omni Reference Weight for ideal results.

Will Oref work for style transfer?

Yes, for style transfer with low omni-weight, over-specify the key traits of your subject to preserve essential characteristics while applying stylization.

Are there refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds. But when you first sign up for an account on PiAPI‘s Workspace, you will be given free credits to try our Midjourney API (specifically the "Pay-as-you-go" service) before making payments!
